Happy Noodle House on Davie Street serves up a focused menu of Chinese noodle dishes and small plates in a modest, cozy setting that suits casual dining or takeout. This spot draws in noodle lovers looking for handmade, fresh noodles with generous portions — a practical choice for a quick, satisfying meal without fuss.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is unpretentious and intimate, filling a compact space with the aroma of fragrant spices and simmering broths. It’s not a polished, upscale dining room but rather a comfortable, humming neighborhood spot where you might find locals and visitors alike digging into bowls of Dan Dan Noodles, Lanzhou beef soup noodles, or Ma Po Tofu. The service tends to be friendly and efficient, with staff ready to help even if you arrive before official opening hours, reflecting the approachable vibe of the place.

Happy Noodle House is best suited for those who appreciate authentic Asian flavors without the frills—people who don’t mind a slightly bustling environment on a busy street but are after hearty, affordable, and varied noodle options. The menu also offers a selection of dim sums like steamed and pan-fried pork buns, as well as lamb skewers and various fried rice dishes, giving plenty of scope for mix-and-match meals.

Parking and street access can be a pinch due to the busy downtown location, so it’s a spot where walking, transit, or quick pickups work best. Lunch or early dinner visits on weekdays might avoid peak crowd times, making it easier to settle in. The mix of spicy and mild items means the menu accommodates different tastes and palates, including vegetarian choices like vegetable dumplings.

  • Ideal for casual noodle meals or takeout with friends or solo
  • Excellent option if you appreciate hand-pulled noodles and bold, comforting broths
  • Cozy, no-nonsense environment with friendly staff attentive to your needs
  • Busy street location means planning your trip during off-peak hours is advisable

Overall, Happy Noodle House fits into Vancouver’s diverse dining scene as a straightforward, affordable noodle spot where locals frequent for honest flavors and generous portions rather than for decor or elaborate dining experiences.

Fresh and daily hand-strung hand made noodles that are fantastic. The portions are generous and the prices are very affordable. I would highly recommend a visit! Tasty dishes at a great price - you can't beat it!

Food is decent. I wouldn't say it's amazing but for the price it's not bad either. Located on a really busy street so finding a parking spot is really hard. Also, food did not take long to arrive at the table. Wonton soup was missing flavor and the Chilli fish was too sweet.

Amazing!!! We had a couple of days in vancouver and found this little gem on Google, small place, little rough around the edges on the decor but that normally promises good things and this place does not disappoint, very friendly staff, brought water while we pondered over the menu, went with the schezuan beef noodles, pork steamed dumplings and chilli wontons, the beef noodles had so much flavour the beef was tender and the hand pulled noodles were the best ive ever had, the Pork dumplings were cooked perfectly had a little soup inside and tasted amazing but the star of the show were the chilli wontons, absolutely phenomenal, not too spicy great flavour cooked perfectly, the portions are large so go with an appetite,if I lived in the area this would be my go to place, the staff were friendly and polite and as we left there was a que forming out the door with hold testament to how well received this place is in the area, they do take out and had a constant stream of customers and delivery drivers picking up orders, 10/10 definitely pay this place a visit.

I take my 95 year old father to new and interesting restaurants in Vancouver and lower mainland. Happy Noodle House is tasty and authentic Asian Cuisine. We opted for non spicy dishes. The soup dumplings were delicious! The atmosphere is cozy and the fragrant spices filled the small restaurant. Happy Noodle House is an understated gem on Davie at Seymour.

The food was good - not necessarily the authentic Chinese flavor but taste good. Nice people there - while arrived early than their opening hours, they still let me sit in and wait - which was great for a chill day.

Very authentic restaurant with great service and delicious food. So many things to choose from but we did the Chive pockets as an appetizer and the Beijing zha Jiang noddle and pork with spicy chili for the mains. The noodles were quite good and the pork sauce was perfect. Portions were good all though the chive pockets were a bit expensive for just 2 but they were good. The pork with chilis was great and we're actually quite spicy. Definitely recommend.

The Chinese food is great and cheap. I enjoy coming here often. The staff are friendly. I love Asian food. One advantage of coming here is it is near my place. Today, I am having the seafood vegetable soup with noodles.

Fresh hand made noodles that were really good. The rest of the menu was just as good. The spicy tangy dumplings were delicious and I couldn’t stop having the broth. The soup dumplings were well made, didn’t break and amazing. Glad we found this place.
